Moving On Scheme

How it works

Moving On offers an opportunity to meet over tea/coffee and biscuits, in the warmth of a friendly environment, to chat to someone who has time to listen, make new friends and discover more about what there is to do locally.

Where and when does Moving On take place?

We meet every Thursday between 10.30am and 12.00 at the Clarke Foley Centre, Cunliffe  Road, Ilkley LS29 9DZ .

Who Can Benefit?

Are you 60+and would you like to…

  • Find new activities
  • Renew old interests
  • Meet others with similar interests
  • Make new friends
  • Take part in local events such as visiting the Theatre, Playhouse or Cinema.

If you’ve answered Yes to any of the above, Moving On may be ideal for you.

We meet once a week to discuss, over a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits, what is going on in our local area.

What you can do to help us.

Our work schedule is always busy, so we are looking for new volunteers. If you’re interested in joining us as a volunteer either drop us an email from our contact page or contact us by phone on 01943 603348. You will be invited to meet up for an informal chat so you can hear how it all works and see if you would like to be involved.  We recruit from the local community and before joining us volunteers are interviewed, have references taken up and undergo training.  Everyone is required to have a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check.
