We here at Ikley and District Good Neighbours are in the process of delivering approximately 200 information booklets to all our clients. Our clients are local older residents who use the services of our Shop & Drop Scheme, Befriending Scheme, Over 90’s party guests, or are members of our weekly social group “Moving On”.
The booklets include useful information to help people during the Coronavirus crisis, as well as enjoyable activities to do at home. The booklets are extra special as we have had help from students of Ben Rhydding Primary School who have drawn some fabulous pictures and created some really enjoyable puzzles.
This strange period of isolation and social distancing has been difficult for many of us especially for those who are living alone and who do not have access to technology. During the crisis all our social interaction activities have had to be suspended but we have maintained contact with our members by regular befriending calls by telephone. We are hoping that when the booklet drops through the post that our clients will be delighted not only with the booklet but also that we here at Ilkley and District Good Neighbours are doing our best to stay connected and we all look forward to the day when we can meet in person once again.
