The Friendship Groups are local social groups for anyone aged 70 years and over to come and make friends and find out more about what is going on in the local area. They are part of Ilkley and District Good Neighbours and are hosted by Helen, our Group Coordinator, plus our fabulous team of volunteers.

The original group was set up to offer support and direction to people whose life circumstances had changed. For example, been new to the area, following surgery or other health issues and bereavement.

Whilst this is not a requirement for joining the groups, we do recognise that this may be the case for some of our new members, and we are committed to offering a supportive, sensitive and respectful environment in response.

We also run social events and trips for our regular members including an afternoon tea trip to Bolton Abbey, Christmas lunches, theatre and panto trips.

The groups run every Friday from 1.30-3pm at the Clarke Foley Community Hub on Cunliffe Road.

Friday’s group meets in the Jack Lofthouse Annex (at the rear of the centre).

It costs £4 per week to attend.
