Volunteers at Ilkley and District Good Neighbours are being offered training in mental health awareness, safeguarding, trips and falls awareness, and First Aid.
Trustee Judy Hutton said: “The courses are held locally, are always short and very relevant to the roles of the volunteers. We’ve been really pleased with the encouraging response from our volunteers and the numbers attending.”
A recent Every Day First Aid course showed how to deal with emergencies with the use of everyday objects. The course, delivered by Dennis Brooksbank for the British Red Cross, demonstrated how most people can respond to an emergency without specialised equipment.
