Ilkley And District Good Neighbours was awarded a Special Recognition Award at the 2022 Ilkley Business Awards.
“Ilkley and District Good Neighbours was first set up in the 1970s. It comprises a team of local volunteers who help the community by offering assistance to people in need. Our aim is to alleviate loneliness and to support older and disabled people living independently in Ilkley and District. Each of our schemes is supported by a group of wonderful volunteers who share our core values of the power of community action to make a difference in people’s daily lives.
It was a pleasure during the pandemic to be part of the Ilkley Corona response team and work with the thousands of Ilkley citizens that came forward to volunteer. With the corona hotline team, our staff and volunteers we were able to support the community with all kinds of requests and support.
During the past 18 months, our Trustees, staff and volunteers have truly stepped up and been true heroes to the community. We feel that this award would show these truly remarkable people how valued they are within Ilkley Good Neighbours and their community.”
