Firstly, welcome and thank you for offering to support our clients. Within this section you will find the documents that form part of the application and induction process for all Ilkley and District Good Neighbours’ volunteers. These apply whether you would like to be a shopper, a befriender or a helper at our Friendship Group.

 If you have any questions about any of the documents below please contact your Coordinator who will be happy to help. 

Role Descriptions

Befriending
Providing a weekly visit for companionship to alleviate social isolation
Friendship Group

Helping to run social groups which take place most weeks, directly supporting the Coordinator and interacting with the clients.

ShopAssist

Supporting someone to access the supermarket by taking them to and from the store and assisting with the shop.

DBS Process

This document outlines how to apply for the Adult Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service certificate required for all IDGN volunteers. The application must be initiated by your Coordinator.

Driving Checks

If you are going to be driving a client as part of your volunteering role, you will need to provide the information outlined in this document prior to starting.
